There are a range of hearing and vision services to support your everyday life, maintain your independence and connect with the wider community. These include services for Deaf people and Deafblind people and people with hearing and vision loss.

Deaf Aotearoa – The voice of Deaf people in New Zealand

Deaf Aotearoa is a national organisation representing the voice of Deaf people, and the national service provider for Deaf people in New Zealand.  

Deaf Aotearoa also works closely with Deaf communities, government agencies and other organisations to increase awareness, promote New Zealand Sign Language and strengthen the rights of Deaf people.

Deaf Aotearoa is one of 133 ordinary members of the World Federation of the Deaf and is also the New Zealand representative.   

New Zealand Relay Services (nzrelay.co.nz)

New Zealand Relay is a free, government-funded service that enables people with hearing and speech impairments to use the phone. We provide services for people who are Deaf, deafblind, hard of hearing, and speech impaired.

Free Hearing Tests & Advice - Your Way Kia Roha

Are you concerned about your hearing? We provide free hearing tests and can help you access funding for hearing aids and other assistive equipment. We also offer personalised support to help you manage your hearing impairment – at home, at work and in social situations.

Our services are completely independent and fully funded by the New Zealand Government.
